Ralson Displays ‘eco-friendly’ Tyre at Auto Expo 2020

The new two-wheeler tyre Ralson Eco Racer is manufactured with high contents of silica.
Amid a handful of tyre launches at the Auto Expo 2020, Ralson tyres too introduced its fresh eco-friendly tyre – the Ralson Eco Racer. Available with only a single size (120/80 18-inch), the Eco Racer tyre gets a high dose of silica content in its raw materials making it one of the most practical eco-friendly two-wheeler tyres.
The regular tyres, either two-wheel or four-wheel, are manufactured by higher intakes of natural rubber and synthetic rubber along with other petroleum-based products.
Commenting on the launch, Sanjeev Pahwa, chairman and managing director of Ralson (India) Limited said, “With the launch of our innovative and eco-friendly Eco racer, we wish to make a compelling product offering and consolidate our market share in this industry which is saturated with brands.”
The Ludhiana-based tyre maker says that the extensive use of silica in the tyre ensures there is reduced friction between the surface and the rubber. Moreover, the low rolling resistance enhances performance by increasing the road-gripping ability and improving the fuel economy of the tyre. The overall setup helps it cut down carbon footprints and return a smooth ride quality.
Explaining the method used for manufacturing these tyres, Manjul Pahwa, Director of Ralson tyres, said, “We have managed to bring down friction with this tyre, thereby bringing down the carbon footprints drastically. One can also recycle these tyre so we term it as an eco-friendly tyre.”
The recycling process he is referring to is known as a de-vulcanisation process, wherein the materials used to develop tyres can be recovered from a used tyre.
The tyre maker is optimistic that the new Ralson Eco Racer will be able to make way to the preferred tyre buying list of consumers owing to its innovative traits. The eco-friendly tyre employs a unique tyre compound and fresh tread pattern which is focussed on safety, durability and fuel economy.
Ralson tyres has been into bicycle tyre manufacturing since 1974 and is now among the top 5 bicycle tyre makers of the world. It recently forayed into automobile tyres.
