2024 Maruti Swift Launched, Gets Bridgestone Ecopia EP150 Tyres

The iconic Maruti Suzuki Swift enters its fourth generation with an evolutionary styling, an all-new cabin with more features, and most importantly, a new three-cylinder petrol engine. Following are all the details one should know about the tyres and new changes introduced in the new Swift:

• The Maruti Suzuki Swift now starts at Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
•  The lower-spec LXI, VXI and VXI(O) variants have 14-inch steel wheels with 165/80 R14 Bridgestone Ecopia EP150 tyres. 
•  The ZXI and ZXI+ variants get along with 185/65 R15 Bridgestone Ecopia EP150 tyres over 15-inch alloy wheels.
• Along with an all-new 1.2-litre engine, it receives new features like nine-inch infotainment, rear AC vents, 6 airbags, etc.

Maruti Suzuki has launched the all-new fourth-generation Swift hatchback, with significant updates inside-out, improved equipment list and an all-new petrol engine. With prices starting at Rs 6.49 lakh, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift claims to be better-equipped and more fuel-efficient than before. 

Here are the details on the changes and add-ons, in addition to the tyres offered, in the new Swift:

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Tyres And Wheels

As before, the lower-spec LXI, VXI and the new VXI(O) variants of the Maruti Suzuki Swift have 165/80 R14 tyres over 14-inch steel wheels. On the other hand, the higher-spec ZXI and ZXI+ variants have 15-inch alloy wheels with 185/65 R15 tyres. This time, all the variants of the Swift come with Bridgestone Ecopia tyres.

Designed and engineered for optimal fuel efficiency and durability, the Bridgestone Ecopia EP150 tyres for Maruti Suzuki Swift have a special Nano-pro compound. With silica and a coupling agent as the major component used, this compound improves distribution and reduces energy losses, thus enhancing fuel efficiency. 

The rib-linked blocks are responsible for improved traction and ground contact while braking over wet terrains. Lastly, the optimised 3D block shape of the tread pattern helps in faster water evacuation for smoother drive and better traction over wet surfaces.

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Looks And Design

Compared to the previous-generation version, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift wears an all-new design while retaining the quintessential silhouette for which the hatchback is known. Besides having a redesigned grille, headlamps with LED projectors and L-shaped LED DRLs and C-shaped LED inserts in tail lamps, the new Swift also gets conventional door-mounted handles for rear doors. 

The cabin has been heavily reworked with an all-new layout, with new features being a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, rear AC vents, standard six airbags across the range and wireless charger.

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Engine And Specifications

Perhaps the biggest upgrade in the new Maruti Suzuki Swift is its heart under the hood, as it gets an all-new 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine. Dubbed Z12E, this new three-pot petrol engine generates 82 PS of maximum power and 112 Nm of maximum torque. As before, the transmission options continue to be a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.
