Continental unveils lineup of ‘Intelligent’ tyres

One of the leading tyremakers, Continental has introduced the first range of ‘intelligent tyres’ to the North American market that comes equipped with pre-installed sensors for tracking the pressure and temperature of the tyre. The new tyres are named as the Conti HSC 3 steer/all-position tyre, Conti HAC 3 all-position tyre and Conti HDC 3 drive tyre. All the tyres, as mentioned above, are designed for heavy trucks and comes with unique features. These ‘intelligent’ tyres are intended for offering excellent performance on/off-road. You can churn out excellent performance, durability, grip, and mileage from the “Generation 3” tyres.

According to Marco Rabe, director of truck tyre technology, “It doesn’t help if you just save a bit of money in the cost of the tire, or you look only at retreading. In the end, it’s about everything working together to optimize the performance of the tire, to optimize the performance of the vehicle, to optimize the customer’s operating cost so that he keeps coming back and we form a partnership because we’re in this for the long haul. We’re convinced these partnerships we are building are long term and it’s a partnership that works between us, the dealer and the customer.”

These tyres come with a sensor that allows the users to monitor the performance of the tyres, which ultimately drops the overall cost of driving. Moreover, the brand believes that this game-changer sensor technology will aid the consumers in understanding the change that this device can bring to their operations.

Continental provides a comprehensive solution for the remarkably demanding construction application by installing sensors in each of the innovative construction tyres. The tyremaker claims that it will not only help the buyers in reducing the overall cost of driving but also aid in improving fuel efficiency and safety.
