The homegrown two-wheeler maker Bajaj has launched the updated versions of its popular Pulsar NS200 and NS160. The NS series of bikes hasn’t received any major updates since it was first introduced in 2012. But now, these street naked bikes have been given a new lease of life to stay in the competition.
The NS duo gets a host of updates, including new lighter wheels for better manoeuvrability during everyday urban rides. Let’s explore more about the tyres and wheels and other major aspects of this update.
Tyres and Wheels
The Bajaj NS200 gets the same set of tyres, while the NS160 now comes with fatter 100/80-17 front and 130/70-17 sized rear tyres. The 17-inch alloy wheels on both models are lighter than the previous version, which makes the kerb weight slightly lighter by 1-1.5 kg. This will enhance rideability in cities and highways.
The bikes come with stock MRF Nylogrip Zapper S tyres which are highly reliable, and big on performance. With a rounded profile and sticky compound, the tyres are specially designed for sport bikes, offering superior grip and handling in busy city commutes.
Styling and Features
In terms of styling and features, both bikes remain unchanged, with the same design and bodywork. The NS200 features sporty graphics, a semi-digital instrument cluster, a halogen headlamp, and appropriate streetfighter ergonomics, allowing comfortable seating and worthy handling dynamics.
The NS160, on the other hand, carries the same design language as the elder sibling with beefy looks. The bike comes with a sharp headlamp with pilot lamps, a semi-digital instrument panel, unique body graphics, an LED taillamp, split seats and raised clip-on handlebars.
