CEAT Launches New SecuraDrive Series Of Tyres For SUVs

Featuring innovative 3D Groove wall technology, the range promises precise steering response and stability at corners.

CEAT, the Indian tyre major has introduced a new range of premium tyres named as SecuraDrive SUV in the market. The new series of tyres are specially manufactured for compact SUVs as it is currently the hottest segment in the auto sector.

According to the press release by the company, the tyre derives its name from the SecuraDrive platform that specializes in tyres for sedans and premium hatchbacks.

As per the claim by CEAT, the new range of tyres provide numerous benefits such as superior steering control and the ability to remain stable at corners.

The sheer performance comes from innovative 3D Groove wall technology used in the tyre that helps the vehicle gain optimum performance in urban areas and on major routes. The fluidic sipe design on the tread pattern further prevents aquaplaning and offer excellent braking.

Further, the tread pitch design features a unique CACTUS algorithm that reduces the noise peeping into the cabin and ensures comfortable ride quality. There is one special aspect of the tyre that makes it a unique product among its league and that is the elegant sidewall design that perfectly suits the looks of a compact SUV.

The CMO of CEAT Tyres, Amit Tolani, said that the compact SUV segment has witnessed a stellar growth of over 50 per cent in the past five years. The segment is further expected to post a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 20 per cent in the coming 3-4 years. He said that company saw the potential and need of the segment and wanted to come out with a specialized range of tyres that could go well with both comfort and performance.

The SecuraDrive SUV tyres will be available for purchase at all the CEAT Shoppes and also via dealers in main markets pan India. The tyre range will be available in five sizes viz. 205/60R16, 215/65R16, 215/55R17, 215/60R17 and 235/65R17.

On the business front, the Indian multinational tyre manufacturing company has laid out a five-year growth plan with three key strategies in mind. The company is targeting the top spot in the 2 and 3-wheeler, as well as in passenger car radial (PCR) segments. Secondly, it aims to be among the top three players in the truck and bus radial (TBR) segment. Finally, it is also eyeing triple growth in international business.
