EICMA 2023 : Ultraviolette F99 Unveiled ; Fastest Indian e-Superbike To Ride On Metzeler Racetec RR Slick High-Performance Tyres
Published On 21-Nov-2023
Besides launching the F77 for the European markets, Ultraviolette also showcased the evolved version of the F99 electric factory racing platform at the EICMA 2023. Here are the details of its race-spec tyres, along with the tech and components on offer in the more-enhanced Ultraviolette F99 concept:
- The improved Ultraviolette F99 showcased at the EICMA 2023 received liquid cooling for the motor and active aerodynamics.
- The F99 concept has 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with Metzeler Racetec RR Slick tyres at both ends – 120/70 R17 front and 180/55 R17 rear.
- The liquid-cooled, 90kW motor of the Ultraviolette F99 enables it to attain a top speed of 265 kmph and cover the 0-100 kmph sprint in 3 seconds.
- The F99 concept was showcased with a new 400V battery architecture, unlike the 60V battery architecture of the F77.
Besides showcasing its first-ever production motorcycle, the F77, for the first time in Europe, Ultraviolette also utilized the platform of EICMA 2023 for showcasing the F99 racing motorcycle prototype. The new Ultraviolette F99 electric factory racing platform showcased at the EICMA 2023 is essentially a more advanced version of the same motorcycle which was displayed at the Auto Expo 2023 earlier this year.
With improvements like a liquid-cooled motor and active aerodynamics, the Ultraviolette F99 is inching towards reality, with the production model set to be launched next year.
Ultraviolette F99: Tyres & Wheels
Like several other premium sports bikes meant to be ridden on tracks, the Ultraviolette F99 also comes with track-oriented slick 120/70 R17 tyre at the front and 180/55 R17 tyre at the rear, both of which are Metzeler Racetec RR Slick tyres. One of the most premium tyres offered by Metzeler in India, the Racetec RR Slick is specifically designed for track bikes for optimum grip and stability even at the highest motorcycle speeds.
Capable of being used across a wide range of asphalts and temperatures, the Metzeler Racetec RR Slick has a single-ply structure, which is common among stock tyres of hypersport motorcycles. This construction allows this tyre to maintain tyre pressure levels at higher speeds.
The Racetec RR Slick also has a sharper and wider contour than most of the track-oriented tyres, enabling a larger contact patch at all the lean angles while cornering on a track. The profile of the Racetec RR Slick is good enough to accelerate the transition from an upright into a lean angle, thus allowing the rider to reach a lean angle faster and have more grip levels.

Ultraviolette F99: Looks & Design
The Ultraviolette F99 showcased at the EICMA 2023 is still in its concept stage, but it indeed gives an idea of how this track-oriented electric sports bike will turn into reality. The F99 concept features an aggressive and sharp design, with LED illumination at the front and rear, while the angular body panels of the motorcycle also accommodate the active aerodynamics within them.
The side profile of the Ultraviolette F99 includes air intakes at the front, which channel the airflow towards the back. The side profile of the F99 also comes armed with carbon fibre winglets, which get activated while leaning, thus reducing drag.
Ultraviolette F99: Powertrain & Specifications
The Ultraviolette F99 is being positioned more as a track-oriented sports bike rather than an everyday performance commuter like the F77. While the battery capacity of the F99 is still under wraps, Ultraviolette has confirmed that it will get a 400V battery architecture, unlike the F77 which has a 60V battery architecture.
Ultraviolette has also confirmed that the F99 will get a liquid-cooled 90kW electric motor, capable of producing 120 bhp maximum power. With a kerb weight of 178 kg, the F99 can reach a top speed of 265 kmph and do the 0-100 kmph run in just 3 seconds, thus belonging to the league of middleweight 600cc supersport motorcycles. Top-spec quality components like Ohlins suspension and Brembo monobloc callipers come as standard on the F99.
