The BMW 5-Series has always remained one of the top picks in the midsize luxury sedan category. While it offers all the luxuries one expects from a premium midsize sedan of its kind, it is also regarded as one of the best sedans to drive, offering a great experience behind the steering wheel. In 2022, BMW brought a facelifted version of the seventh-generation 5-Series, which now looks much sharper and premium than before.
BMW has trimmed the 5-Series lineup with the facelifted version. Now, it gets two different variants distinctively differentiated by the choice of powertrains – 530i M Sport and 520d M Sport. The 530i M Sport claims 252 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque from its 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. On the other hand, the 520d M Sport gets a 2.0-litre diesel engine, which develops 190 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. Both these variants get an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission as standard.
With the facelifted version, the new BMW 5-Series now gets an M Sport package as standard equipment. On the outside, the M Sport trim brings a few changes, such as a gloss black finish for the air breathers, front bumper inserts, ORVMs, exhaust ports, B-pillar and window guide rail. The M Sport package for the 5-Series also adds M badges on front fenders, M aerodynamics package for front and rear aprons, 18-inch M Sport alloy wheels, M door sill finishers and M sport brake callipers.
The facelifted version also received revised Matrix LED headlamps with dual L-shaped daytime running LEDs and new LED inserts for the tail lamps. BMW is offering the new 5-Series in four different colour options – Alpine White, Carbon Black, Phytonic Blue and Skyscraper Grey.
The 530i M Sport is offered with three dual-tone Sensatec leather upholstery options – Cognac/Black, Canberra Beige/Black and all-black. Likewise, the 520d M Sport is offered with a black Dakota leather upholstery as standard, with three contrast stitching options of Ivory White, Black and Cognac.
