Hero MotoCorp began the year 2024 on a good note by launching its new flagship motorcycle, the Mavrick. A premium sports roadster based on the Harley-Davidson X440, the new Hero Mavrick 440 features a neo-retro sports design, which makes it a direct rival to motorcycles like Triumph Speed 400, Honda CB300R and Jawa 42. Available in three variants – Base, Mid and Top, the prices of Hero Mavrick 440 range start at Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
The Hero Mavrick 440 features a rounded headlight, which along with rounded turn indicators and a compact tail lamp, has all-LED illumination. With a muscular fuel tank and lean tail section completing the visual part, the Hero Mavrick 440 also gets a full-LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, new-generation premium switchgear and dual-channel ABS.
The Hero Mavrick 440 shares its four-stroke, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled 440cc engine with the Harley-Davidson X440, though it gets a separate state of tune. The engine claims 27 bhp of maximum power and 36 Nm of maximum torque. The Hero Mavrick 440 follows a conventional approach for the suspension setup, with the front end having 43mm inverted forks and the rear end having seven-step adjustable twin coil springs. The brakes on duty are a 320mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the back.
