The Mercedes-Benz GLB sits in a league of its own by being the only compact seven-seater luxury SUV available in India, apart from Land Rover Discovery Sport. Here, we bring you complete information about the tyre options recommended for this unique SUV.
- The Mercedes-Benz GLB looks like a scaled-down version of the much larger GLS SUV but shares its platform with the smaller GLA sedan.
- The GLB is on sale in two trim levels – Progressive Line and AMG Line.
- The GLB Progressive Line gets 18-inch alloy wheels with 235/55 R18 tyres.
- The GLB AMG Line features larger 19-inch AMG alloy wheels with 235/50 R19 tyres.

- The 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine in the GLB 200 produces 160PS/ of power and 250 Nm of torque and is paired to a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
- The 2.0-litre diesel engine in GLB 220d and GLB 220d 4MATIC churns out 190 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque, and is paired to an 8-speed DCT gearbox.

Slotted between the GLA and GLB 5-seater luxury SUVs, the Mercedes-Benz GLB is a unique proposition and sits in the niche segment of compact seven-seater luxury SUVs. This one-of-a-kind SUV shares its platform with the smaller GLA SUV and looks bigger with the additional facility of a third row of seats.
The Mercedes-Benz GLB is available in India in two trim levels – Progressive Line and AMG Line. The Progressive Line is being offered with two variants – GLB 200 and GLB 220d. The GLB 200 gets a 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 160 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque and is paired to a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
The GLB 220d, on the other hand, gets a 2.0-litre diesel engine, which churns out 190 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque, and gets an 8-speed automatic transmission. The AMG Line gets the same 2.0-litre diesel engine and 8-speed DCT but with the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.
The Progressive and AMG Line versions of the Mercedes-Benz GLB feature different front profiles. The Progressive Line features a more rectangular grille with two silver-finished louvres, a high-gloss finish for the skid plates on the front and rear bumpers and 5-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the AMG Line gets a revised sportier front grille with chrome-finished pins, AMG front bumper with chrome front splitter and AMG rear bumper with a more prominent diffuser.
While the Progressive Line version gets two upholstery options of Macchiato Beige and Anthracite Black, the AMG Line comes standard with a DINAMICA micro fibre black leather upholstery. The AMG Line variant also gets a sportier AMG sports steering wheel, AMG sports seats, AMG scuff plates and pedals. Apart from these highlights, both versions of the GLB get turbine-styled AC vents, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, powered front seats, 64-colour ambient lighting, touchpad and twin 10.25-inch full-TFT screens in driver’s cockpit.
Mercedes-Benz GLB Tyres & Wheels
