Royal Enfield Scram 411 - Tyres & Wheels Detail

The Royal Enfield has finally introduced the tone-down version of the Himalayan, the Scram 411, in the Indian market. The adventure bike has been launched at the starting price of INR 2.03 lakh, with the top-end model going up to INR 2.08 lakh, based on the colour you choose.

The Royal Enfield Scram 411 resembles the elder sibling Himalayan and is the more affordable version, however, some visual differences and changes under the skin set it apart from the latter.

The bike features a rounded retro headlamp unit with a unique metal cowl around. The headlamp is set lower, while the massive fuel tank frame sourced from the Himalayan, has been replaced by two small panels at the sides.

The seat consists of a nice texture and comes in a single piece unit, whereas the tail section has been revised, with an LED unit and a simple and smaller grab handle. This has been done for ensuring rear saddle accessibility for the pillion rider.

In terms of features, the motorcycle gets a single multi-functional pod similar to that in Meteor 350, integrating the odometer, a gear indicator, two trip meters, and a digital fuel gauge, missing out on a tachometer. However, the colour treatment is different from the Meteor 350. There is also an optional google maps-based Tripper Navigation screen for getting turn-by-turn navigation.

The Royal Enfield Scram 411 employs the same chassis as the sibling Himalayan and is built on the half-duplex split cradle frame. However, the bike gets a 19-inch wheel at the front, while the suspension travel has also been reduced by 10mm.

It comes with a 41mm telescopic front fork with 190mm travel, while the rear one consists of a monoshock with linkage and V180mm wheel travel. The stopping power is derived from the 300m disc, with a 2-piston floating calliper at the front, and a 240mm disc, with a single-piston floating calliper at the rear, along with a dual-channel ABS.
