More and more car brands are entering India, intending to boost their business in the booming auto market in the country. Citroen, the French automaker, is yet another brand that has become the talking point for the past year. It is the second attempt of the parent company PSA Group in India, with the last one proving to be terrible in the 90s.
The Citroen launched the C5 Aircross in 2021 in the ever-flourishing SUV segment and then launched a comprehensive set of updates in the facelift introduced in 2022. The Citroen C5 Aircross has now become more sophisticated and cleaner outside, and a lot of goodies added to the cabin.
On the outside, the cosmetic changes are mostly limited to the front profile, with the layered split headlights replaced by cleaner-looking single-unit wraparound headlamps, deviating at the outer edges. The headlight cluster now also integrates two sets of LED daytime running lights, smartly aligning with the grille, with the logo placed in the centre.
The front bumper is now much cleaner with the narrower central air intake, omitting the block-like design elements of the last model. The faux skid plate is newer, and the company claims that the big, deep-set air intakes on either side improve the aerodynamics of the SUV.
On the side, you will find a similar styling except for the new set of 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear end gets fresh LED taillamps, featuring a rectangular-shaped three-dimensional light design. The bumpers at the rear boast fake vents and fake dual exhausts on either side, however, the outlining is in silver.

The earlier cube-shaped aircons have now been replaced by more traditional-looking flat units beneath. However, the touch shortcut keys for the infotainment unit are intact, but they found a new position below the AC vents.
Talking about the centre console, it gets subtle changes with the conventional gear lever replaced by a fresh toggle button. The rounded dials of the drive modes located on the centre console have been swapped by a new rectangular switch. The 12.3-inch digital instrument panel now gets a new interface with updated graphics.
The car continues to incorporate the second-row seat that comes with sliding, reclining and retractable functionality. The armrests, seats, and the centre console also get updated upholstery featuring a fine combination of leather and fabric, furnished with black and grey shades.
The equipment level remains top-notch with the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for the new infotainment unit. The C5 Aircross continues to pamper the passengers with dual-zone climate control, air quality system, powered driver’s seat, panoramic sunroof, push-button start/stop, cruise control, automatic headlights, handsfree tailgate operation and handsfree parking.
