Here Are The Best Tyres For Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

Royal Enfield knows how to impress and increase its fanbase, and it did in style with its most powerful motorcycle, Interceptor 650, in 2018. Following which, it received a minor update in 2020. The cruiser bike has been a treat for those who love retro-look motorcycles, which forms a large chunk of the overall sales of RE in the Indian market.

The Interceptor 650 is a dynamic retro bike with an unsloped riding stance and comes equipped with the touring capabilities of a roadster. The bike perfectly fits into the contemporary narrative of being young, energetic, free and fun.

The award-winning motorcycle features a twin-pod analogue instrument cluster, with a secondary digital display that shows information mileage travelled, trip meter and fuel level. The bike is simple, and old school featuring a single-bulb halogen headlight and a basic taillight. However, the quality levels are top-notch with clean and proportionate design, way above any other Royal Enfield motorcycle.

The engine and the exhaust pipe have been nicely finished, while the seats are narrow and soft, with diamond-pattern stitching. For a more comfortable riding position, the bike features a practical braced handlebar, bench seat, and mid-set footpegs. The stylish 18-inch 36-spoke aluminium alloy rims conform with the retro looks, while the reminiscent exhaust note brings the legend to life.

Powering the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is the parallel-twin, air-cooled engine that produces 47.45PS and 52Nm of torque, coupled with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike features a slipper clutch and an assist for mitigating the effects of engine braking.

Further, the counterbalancer makes the engine more refined during high speeds cruising on thoroughfares, while the smooth throttle feedback across the rev range guarantees adequate power during busy city traffic.

The bike sits on a double-cradle frame suspension connected to a telescopic front fork, and twin gas-charged preload adjustable shock absorbers at the rear. The braking mechanism consists of a 320mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc with standard dual-channel ABS at the rear.

The latest model comes with plenty of colour options, including Mark Two, Sunset Strip, Baker Express, Downtown Drag, Canyon Red, Ventura Blue, and Orange Crush. The Interceptor 650 challenges the likes of the Kawasaki Z650 in its class, while in terms of pricing, it competes with KTM 390 Duke, Kawasaki Ninja 300, and the KTM RC 390.

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Tyres & Wheels

The present model of Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 sports 100/90-18 front and 130/70-18 radial tubeless tyres at the rear. The tyres have been specially designed for cruising at high speeds, and offer optimal safety while cornering and leaning, with superior traction on damp surfaces.

With these tyres, the Interceptor goes through twisty back roads, major routes and crowded city traffic with ease, bringing a sheer combination of timeless style and contemporary performance. And when combined with 18-inch, 36-spoke aluminium alloy wheels, the bike aids in high-speed stability and handling.

Further, the soft suspension setup does a fine job of preventing crashes and thuds over potholes. The tyres of the first model of the Interceptor launched in 2018, and the present one remains unchanged.
