Volvo has just expanded its all-electric vehicle lineup with the dynamic-looking C40 Recharge, an SUV-coupe version of the already-on-sale XC40 Recharge. Launched at Rs 61.25 lakh, the Volvo C40 Recharge is the first offering from the Swedish carmaker in India, which has been launched as an electric car without any history of ICE versions. 

The Volvo C40 Recharge is essentially a coupe version of the XC40 Recharge, and that is evident in its distinctive coupe-ish profile towards the rear, with a sloping roofline, sharply raked rear windscreen and slimmer, revised LED tail lamps. The front profile and overall design till the B-pillar of the C40 Recharge has been shared with the XC40 Recharge, with the former exclusively getting Pixel LED headlamps and a new two-part roof spoiler.

The cabin layout of the Volvo C40 Recharge has been shared with the XC40 Recharge, with the SUV coupe having an all-black cabin made of sustainable materials and garnished with wood inlays. The cabin looks new-age with the presence of a 12.3-inch full-TFT instrument console and an Android-based 9-inch portrait-style touchscreen infotainment system. It also gets other high-end features like a panoramic sunroof, powered, heated and ventilated front seats, Harman Kardon audio system, etc. 

The Volvo C40 Recharge even shares the underpinnings and powertrain setup with the XC40 Recharge. Built on Volvo’s Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform, the C40 Recharge gets a dual-motor setup, which claims 408 bhp of power and 660 Nm of torque enabling the C40 Recharge to cover the 0-100 mph sprint in 4.7 seconds.
