New Centre-lock Wheels Introduced For BMW M Performance Cars: Details Here

Created to add an enhanced style statement to the BMW M Performance cars, like the M2, M3 and M4, the new centre-lock wheels are lighter and easier to replace.

To make its M-branded cars feel more dynamic at a standstill and while on the go, BMW has introduced a new range of centre-lock wheels for some of its M marques. Offering an added touch of motorsport feeling, the new centre-lock wheels introduced for BMW M cars are lightweight forged wheels, thus inheriting racetrack technology.

The new centre-lock wheels have already been introduced by BMW in the new special-edition, 50th-anniversary edition BMW 3.0 CSL as standard. In addition, the new wheels are also offered in various other M offerings from BMW, such as M2, M3 Touring Competition with M xDrive, M3 sedan, M4 Coupe and M4 Convertible.

For those who adore motorsports, they know how good the centre-lock wheels are for sports cars and track cars. These lightweight wheels are quicker to replace, enabling faster wheel changes and shorter pit stops. These wheels come with only one central screw to attach to the wheel hub and not with the usual five-screw arrangement offered in general.

To ensure that the connection between the wheel and hub remains solid, a high torque of 930 Nm is applied during the installation of centre locks. In addition to reducing replacement times and easier installation, the centre-lock wheels also decrease rotational mass and enhance the visual appeal with their distinctive designs in the hub area.

Featuring a Y-themed design for their spokes, these lightweight forged centre-lock wheels for the BWM M performance cars are finished in Jet Black matte finish, in addition to featuring milled M Performance lettering on them. With these added touches of exclusivity, the new wheels can add a great style statement to the BMW M cars.

For the M2, M3 and M4 models, BMW is offering M Performance centre-lock wheels in combined sets, including 19-inch wheels for the front axle and 20-inch wheels for the rear axle. In the BMW M cars, while the 19-inch wheels come wrapped with 275/35 ZR19 tyres at the front, the 20-inch wheels at the rear have 285/30 ZR20 tyres over them.

The new 19-inch front and 20-inch rear centre-lock wheels for BMW M cars, now a part of the BMW M Performance parts, are a good addition for those BMW M car owners who take their cars frequently to the tracks for heavy-duty, rubber-smoking action. 

For now, BMW is offering 19-inch front and 20-inch rear centre-lock wheels for the said M performance cars with prices starting at 12,000 Euros. Also, these wheels are currently offered only in the European car markets and not in the US and Asia.
