While the all-new BMW S 1000 XR is still some time away, its high-performance, track-oriented version, the M 1000 XR, has landed on the Indian shores. Here are all the details of the premium sporty track tyres offered in the BMW M 1000 XR, along with all of its other details:
- Based on the S 1000 XR, the BMW M 1000 XR gets a unique livery, extensive electronic riding aids, and premium components over the former.
- Gets 17-inch carbon wheels with Continental ContiRaceAttack 2 Street tyres – 120/70 ZR17 front and 200/55 ZR17 rear.
- The liquid-cooled, inline-four, 999cc engine of the M 1000 XR has been shared with the M 1000 R and M 1000 RR.
BMW Motorrad has expanded its lineup of high-performance M motorcycles by launching the M 1000 XR in India. Priced at Rs 45 lakh, the BMW M 1000 XR slots between the M 1000 R (Rs 33-38 lakh) and M 1000 RR (Rs 45-49 lakh), and is offered with the M Competition package as standard. The M 1000 XR is a more hardcore and track-focused version of the S 1000 XR crossover touring motorcycle with several premium components and features.

The BMW M 1000 XR comes equipped with high-performance Continental ContiRaceAttack 2 Street tyres – 120/70 ZR17 front and 200/55 ZR17 rear – over its 17-inch forged carbon wheels. Shared with the M 1000 R and M 1000 RR, these premium Continental tyres have a unique BlackChili compound and innovative carcass construction to complement the high-performance levels of the M 1000 XR.
The Continental ContiRaceAttack 2 Street tyres for BMW M 1000 XR have a homogenous gradation of grip levels with a single compound, named MultiGrip, which results in perfect grip with maximum feedback. The innovative carcass features GripLimitFeedback technology increases safety while high-speed cornering with precise feedback on friction jumps.
More grip levels are ensured by the tread pattern with a low negative proportion and maximum slick proportion on the shoulder area.

Featuring a striking motorsport livery with winglets at the front, the BMW M 1000 XR has sportier seating posture with revised foot pegs.
The list of standard equipment on offer includes a full-TFT console with M animation, adaptive LED headlamps, sport windscreen, adjustable steering damper, keyless ride, tyre pressure control, heated grips and cruise control. However, what sets the tone apart for the BMW M 1000 XR is the enhanced list of electronic riding aids and a huge collection of M parts, including several expensive elements and carbon components.

Featuring high-level tech like “ShiftCam” variable valve timing with lift technology and titanium valves, the liquid-cooled, inline-four, 999cc engine of the M 1000 XR generates 201 bhp of maximum power and 113 Nm of maximum torque. It gets a fully-adjustable, electronically-controlled suspension – 45mm upside-down telescopic fork at the front and a mono-shock at the rear.
