Both the GLE 53 4MATIC+ and the GLS 63 4MATIC+ will be factory fitted with Yokohama Advan Sport V107 tyres
The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced today that Mercedes-AMG has selected its ADVAN Sport V107 tyres as original equipment for the new GLS 63 4MATIC+ cars and GLE 53 4MATIC+ cars.
Yokohama Said that it began supplying the tyres in October 2019 for both the AMG’s. It supplied tyres in two sizes for the GLS 63 4MATIC+ cars - 285/45ZR22 114Y size front tyres and 325/40ZR22 114Y size rear tyres. Tyres in three sizes were supplied by Yokohama for the GLE 53 4MATIC+ cars - 275/50ZR20 113Y or 285/40ZR22 110Y size front tires and 325/35ZR22 114Y size rear tires.
The ADVAN Sport V107 is a high-performance tire developed by Yokohama Rubber primarily for use on high-power premium cars. The ADVAN Sport V107 improves upon the already excellent driving performance necessary for premium cars delivered by its predecessor ADVAN Sport V105 tyres while maintaining the superior comfort and safety of the V105. The tyres were jointly developed with Mercedes-AMG and bear the automaker’s “MO1” [Mercedes Original (for AMG models)] mark of approval on the tire sidewall, said the tyre maker in a release.
The Japanese tyre maker further added that its core goal is to increase its presence in the premium tyre market. It also aims to increase the use of YOKOHAMA tires as OE on premium cars in Japan and abroad.
In December 2019, Yokohama announced that it is supplying its Advan Sport V105 and Advan GT tyre as original equipment for Porsche Cayenne SUV.
