Continental CrossContact AX6 SUV Tyre Launched In India

The new range of Sports Utility Vehicle tyres are aimed at enhanced on-road and off-road performance.
German tyre giant, Continental AG has introduced Continental CrossContact AX6 tyres for SUVs in India. The all-new range of all-terrain tyres marks the sixth generation of the CrossContact SUV tyre range in the country. The CrossContact AX6 tyres claim high durability, reduced tyre noise and possess a special tread design for optimum control on any terrain – irrespective of wet or dry road conditions.
According to the company, the Continental CrossContact AX6 tyres are engineered to traverse effortlessly over varied surface conditions found on-road and off-road. The new range of SUV tyres is aimed at the consumers who demand surefooted stability on the smooth roads and a confident grip over rough roads.
Before its India launch, the CrossContact AX6 tyre has won many accolades internationally for its dependable on-and-off-road performance. Owing to the emerging SUV market in the country, the Hanover-headquartered tyre firm is confident of scaling new highs in the SUV tyre segment.
The current domestic market of SUV sales has grown exponentially over the last few years. In 2021, the SUV and crossover sales consist of 38 per cent of the entire passenger vehicle sales in India against a meagre eight per cent in 2001.
Over a span of 20 years, the passenger vehicle sector has witnessed a major shift in the choice of vehicles. This has eventually led to the high demand for performance tyres for SUVs in India. At present, the Continental India portfolio holds class-leading SUV tyres which includes the likes of ContiCrossContact LX2, ContiSportContact 5 P, ContiSportContact AT and others.
On the technology front, Continental introduced Conti SupRim Technology in the Indian market. The unique Conti SupRim Technology from Continental is aimed at higher tread life and wear arrest properties. This new expertise will be infused into all radial tyres produced by the German tyre maker’s Modipuram manufacturing unit.
