Michelin Announces Price Hike In Africa, India And Middle Eastern Region

This increase is effective 18th June for India and 1 st July for Middle East region and is applicable to all MICHELIN Group brands.

French tyremaker, Michelin on Tuesday announced that it will increase its prices by up to 6 percent in Africa, India and Middle Eastern market.

The company will increase prices on passenger car, light truck, and motorcycles replacement tyres.

The tyremaker also said that it will increase prices on both on-and off-road commercial tyres by up to 8 percent due to increase of raw material cost, global transportation cost and prevailing market dynamics.

This increase is effective 18th June for India and 1 st July for Middle East region and is applicable to all MICHELIN Group brands.

Price changes may vary across specific products within each brand portfolio. Details will be presented to dealers, fleets, end-users and commercial equipment manufacturers by June 1 st week, said Michelin in a release.

Headquartered in Clermont-Ferrand, France, Michelin is present in 170 countries, has 123,600 employees and operates 71 tyre production facilities which together produced around 170 million tyres in 2020.

In India, Michelin has a 290-acre plant in Tamil Nadu where it produces radial truck/bus tyres. It also caters to passenger cars, trucks, buses, two-wheelers and off the road vehicles in the country.
