Like the lower-priced Urbane variant, which was launched a few weeks ago, the new Bajaj Chetak Premium rides on 12-inch wheels. The new Chetak Premium shares its 90/90-12 front and 90/100-12 rear tubeless MRF Zapper-K tyres with the Chetak Urbane. Exclusively made for the Bajaj Chetak range, the MRF Zapper-K belongs to the new-generation MRF Zapper tubeless tyre range for scooters.
The MRF Zapper-K has a unique tread pattern, which matches the stylish appearance of the Bajaj Chetak Premium, while also increasing the traction and grip levels on the tarmac. This MRF tyre for Bajaj Chetak also has an extended shoulder design for added surefootedness around corners and low-speed maneuvres. More grip levels and durability for MRF Zapper-K are ensured by its special compound.

Bajaj Chetak Premium: Looks & Design
One big change in the new Bajaj Chetak Premium is the introduction of an all-new 5-inch TFT instrument console, which offers multiple display modes and also supports Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. Other than this new console, the Bajaj Chetak Premium continues to wear its neo-retro design language with modern elements like all-LED headlamps, turn indicators, tail lamps and alloy wheels.
The standard features offered in the new Chetak Premium are eco and reverse riding modes and a fob key, though the optional “Tecpac” kit adds more features like “sports” riding mode, hill hold assist, full app connectivity and sequential turn indicators. The new Bajaj Chetak Premium is being offered in three colour options – Hazelnut, Indigo Blue and Brooklyn Black.
Bajaj Chetak Premium: Engine & Specifications
A step up over the Urbane variant, the new Bajaj Chetak Premium gets a larger 3.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which claims to offer a higher range over the lower-priced Chetak Urbane. The new Chetak Premium claims an IDC-certified range of 126 km, compared to the 113 km range claimed by Chetak Urbane. The electric motor powering the rear wheel of the Bajaj Chetak Premium helps the scooter attain a top speed of 73 kmph.
The new Bajaj Chetak Premium continues to have a single-sided front and rear suspension, which has been a trademark for the brand Bajaj Chetak for decades, though it is in a more sophisticated form in the new version. The Bajaj Chetak Premium comes with a standard 650W charger, which claims to charge the battery from 0 to 100 percent in 4 hours and 30 minutes.
